URGENT: COVID-19 SAFETY UPDATE

Tuesday, March, 17, 2020

Being a dental facility/clinic, we practice strict UNIVERSAL precautions here at Sophisticated Smiles. These precautions keep every patient safe, as well as our team of employees.  Our emphasis on YOUR SAFETY is nothing new for us and continues with an even higher focus due to the seriousness of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

We take our patients’ safety seriously so we do the following:

  1. All of our treatment rooms are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each patient’s appointment even if they just have an exam.
  2. The front desk and reception area (including all door handles) are disinfected frequently each day.
  3. Strict sterilization processes which meet OSHA/TOSHA, CDC, and hospital standards are followed on all instruments.
  4. We constantly monitor and follow all guidelines from the CDC and Tennessee Department of Health.
  5. Any employee that is sick or has a fever will not come to work. Any patient that is sick or has symptoms will be rescheduled.

What we ask of you:

  1. We kindly ask any patient/family member who has been sick or has been in close proximity with someone who has been running a fever or sick within the past 48 hours, to please reschedule your appointment.
  2. If you are in a high risk category either due to age or underlying health issues, then please postpone treatment.
  3. If you have recently traveled via airplane to regions of larger outbreaks of COVID-19 (Such as China, NYC, California, Seattle, etc…) please alert us when you check in for your appointment. So we can determine the best course of action.
  4. If you have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14-21 days, please reschedule your appointment.
  5. If you feel these symptoms shortly before your appt, and need to cancel the same day, we will not hold it against you 😊
  6. Please remember to keep washing your hands frequently and maintain 6 feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  7. Speak up if you have any comments or concerns.  We are here for you.
  8. We will be conducting temperature screening exams prior to proceeding with treatment.
  9. All patients will be given a pre-treatment antiseptic rinse prior to any dental procedures to help kill any virus and bacteria present in the mouth.
  10. Please postpone any elective procedures such as Zoom Whitening.

The BIG PICTURE:  Together, we can all work together to minimize the effect of the Corona Virus on each individual and the community at large. This is an ongoing situation and may evolve with time.  We will keep you updated as to any changes. –Dr. Cameron and Team
